Lake Front Update

This home overlooking Crystal Lake was designed and built by the current owners parents, but, they needed more space if they were going to make it their full time home. Additionally, they wanted to make the walk-out basement a full apartment for their mother to age-in-place. To add some much needed space to this charming cottage without sacrificing the overall character of the home required some clever architectural solutions. Expanding upwards gave us the room to add an informal family room with more storage while vaulted ceilings retained the views of the lake and forrest behind. Mainting views was extremely important to the clients so windows framing their favorite scenes are tucked all throughout the new design.
